Alfred Bennett, a beloved resident of Echols County, Georgia, passed away on December 26, 2023. He was born on May 4th, 1947, to Clifford Bennett and Ida DeLoach Bennett in Statenville, Georgia. Alfred served his country with honor in the Army and later worked at the Georgia Welcome Center in maintenance.

Alfred was a man with a passion for speed and mechanics. He had a deep love for fast cars, hot rods, and boats, and he could often be found tinkering with engines.  Alfred also enjoyed spending his time fishing and searching for a great deal.

Alfred Bennett is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Bennett Ellis, and his sons: Timothy Bennett, Michael Henderson (Alicia), and Ethan Henderson, all of Echols County, Georgia, as well as his son, David Amerson of Pitts, Georgia. He is also survived by his dear sister, Caroline Gritz (Jeff) of Jennings, Florida.

Alfred was a proud grandfather to Hayden, Summer, Alexis, Michael Tyler, Timmothy Alexander, Charlie, Avery, and a great-grandfather to Aliso, Michael James, Rylan Jaxton, and Caden Bo. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins including a very special niece, Carolee Tucker and her children, Brandon and Clyde.

Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ida Bennett; his daughter, Carol Paula Bennett; his sister, Jewel Bennett Sapp; and his brothers: W.C. Bennett, Roosevelt Bennett, and Cleo Bennett.

A funeral service to celebrate Alfred's life will be held on Saturday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, Florida, with a visitation prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Staten Cemetery in Echols County, Georgia.
