Anna Ruth Spaulding Christopher Zubaty, age 64, of Jasper, FL. passed away March 11, 2018 at Shands U.F. in Gainesville, FL.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.


Anna was one of a kind. She was born in West Virginia on October 10, 1953 to the late George and Marie Spry Spaulding. She graduated from high school in Bedford, Ohio and attended business classes at Akron University. She was employed by Chrysler for many years and was extremely proud to be associated with the company. Following her retirement Anna and husband Homer moved from Rootstown, Ohio to Jennings. Anna enjoyed life and kept herself busy cooking, sewing, dancing, and traveling. That traveling included many trips to cities that had casino's available and eating. Her family enjoys reminiscing over conversations about traveling and they knew Anna's first question would be, "Where do you want to go and do they have a casino and where are we going to eat when we get there?". Anna was a joy to be around because she was always laughing and joking. She had a heart of gold and a smile that could light the sky. Anna's life was not without heartache. She lost her husband Homer in Dec. of 2006 and sadly suffered the loss of two of her children, Danny and Holly Ann, and a sister Dottie that she loved deeply. Anna was never one to sing a sad song and knew that life had more to offer and in fact it did. Some ten years ago she met and enjoyed the company of Mike Zubaty and recently the two wed. To know her was to love her. You will be missed Anna.

Survivors include husband, Mike Zubaty; two daughters, Veronica Friend (Doug) of Deerfield, Ohio and Lynette Sanders Meierbachtol (Zachary) of Valdosta, GA.; two sons, Eugene George, Sr. and Richard Morris, both of Jennings, FL.; two brothers, George Spaulding of Valdosta, GA. and Patrick Spaulding (Linda) of Revenna, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
