This obituary has been added to our website as a courtesy to the Allen Family. Annie Laura was one of my favorite Aunts my entire life. We rejoice in her passing, we know where she is, and we look to the day we will join her in heaven.

Mrs. Annie Laura Futch, age 88, of Macclenny, FL passed away Tuesday, October 13th in the St. Vincent's Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL.

Mrs. Futch was born in Madison, FL to the late Bryant Joshua and Annie Green Allen and was the last living child out of nine. She was a resident of Baker County, FL since 1973 moving from Jacksonville.  She was employed for many years by the Baker County School System in Food Service. Annie Laura was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny. She was a member of the church choir, served on the kitchen staff for Wednesday night suppers and was active in church activities. Where most have a hobby of knitting or sewing, Annie Laura and her husband found their niche in church ministry. They discovered the blessings of reaching out and serving others, expecting nothing in return. It was difficult to have to finally give that ministry up as she started dialysis and so she spread the love of Christ through phone calls checking on the health and well-being of other church members and shut ins. Busy until the Lord called her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the late Thomas Dugger Futch; brothers and sisters, Willie Allen, Earl Allen, Israel James "I.J." Allen, Bryant Joshua "JR" Allen, Pete Allen, Letha Gaston, Myrtie Morgan, and Betty Jean Parsons Morgan.

Mrs. Futch is survived by one son, Thomas Wayne Futch of Macclenny, FL: one daughter, Patricia Ann Duggan of Macclenny, FL: one grandchild, Ashley Duggan (Josh) of Macclenny, FL and one great grandchild, Marlee Shanahan of Macclenny, FL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Futch was held at 3 P.M., Sunday, October 18th in the Chapel of GUERRY FUNERAL HOME in Maclenny, FL.
