Mrs. Annie Mae Reid, of Valdosta, GA. passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Langdale Hospice in Valdosta following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Brooks County, GA. on April 25, 1920 to the late Edward A. and Annie Mae Crane Williams. She worked as a bookkeeper for seven years at the hospital in Quitman and for twenty-three years at Hamilton County Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was a talented pianist and taught piano to a number of students. Playing piano was a gift she enjoyed all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Reid.
Survivors include two sons, William Staten "Bill" Reid of Tampa, FL. and Donald W. (Diann) Reid of Lake Park, GA.; one daughter, Rosalind Anne Reid of Valdosta, GA.; three grandchildren, Hayley Reid, Heather Reid (Jacob) Sullivan and Dale Andrew Reid; one great granddaughter, Emma Claire Sullivan. One brother, Henry A. (Myrtle) Williams of Valdosta. GA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church of your choice or to Langdale Hospice, 2263 Pineview Dr. Valdosta, GA. 31602.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.
