Arthur Eugene Land, Sr., affectionately known as Arthur Gene or as so many would call him, "Papa", passed away on March 26th, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Gainesville, FL, to the late Rufus and Annie Land.  His life was marked by a deep love for his family and a passion for his work.

Arthur Gene was skilled at operating heavy equipment; one he honed over many years. His dedication led him down a long career at PCS Phosphate (now Nutrien) in White Springs, FL. Even after retiring, Arthur Gene was happy to lend his expertise to friends and family, readily assisting with any land clearing they needed done. He was always eager to help.

An integral part of Arthur Gene's life was his family, whom he cherished above all else. He reveled in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren creating cherished memories that will endure through generations. Arthur Gene also loved being in the great outdoors, indulging in his passions for hunting and fishing. Some of his fondest moments often occurred during trips to Keaton Beach, where he would enjoy being on the water fishing and spending time with his family and great friends.

Arthur Gene leaves behind a legacy defined by his selflessness and love. He is survived by his daughter, Denice Hughes (Scott) of Jasper, FL and his son, Henry Land (Tiffany) of Jasper, FL. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Devin Land, William Hughes (Kassie), Maggie Hughes (Dwain), Ethan Land (Ashley), and Kassie Land (Caleb), as well as his four great-grandchildren: Harper, Declan, Carter, and Lawton.

In addition to his immediate family, Arthur Gene will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Corless Law Land, his daughter, Jeannine Rose Land, his son, Arthur Eugene "Gene" Land, Jr., his sister, Henrietta Richards of Bell, FL, and his brother, Leroy Harris.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at a time of visitation at Harry T. Reid's Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28th, from 5 - 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29th, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Law Family Cemetery in White Springs, FL. Arthur Gene's legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
