Aubrey Lee Miller, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. He was born on July 6, 1948.
Aubrey was a proud 1966 graduate of Hamilton High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country for 21 years as a radar mechanic. His military service was one of his greatest sources of pride, and even after retirement, he carried himself with the discipline, leadership, and unmistakable command presence of a Soldier. Those who knew him well often smiled at his tendency to "boss people around"—a trait that reflected his lifelong commitment to getting the job done.
Following his retirement from the Army, Aubrey continued his career as an electronics technician and television repairman, putting his technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to work for many years.
On November 1, 1991, Aubrey married the love of his life, Marilyn Miller. Together they shared a loving marriage built on devotion, companionship, and faith.
Aubrey enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and target shooting. He had a deep appreciation for animals, particularly dogs.
He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Jasper for more than 30 years. Aubrey was also an active member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the National Order of the Trench Rats, organizations that reflected his enduring respect for military service and the lifelong friendships he formed while serving his country.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Stalvey; his father, Aubrey Hurst; his stepfather, Henry Miller; his sister, Katherine Miller Wynn; and his stepson, Steven Witko.
Aubrey leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of nearly 35 years, Marilyn Miller; his children: Aubrey Miller, Jr., Jessica Hernandez-Lopez and Amanda Roberts; his stepchildren: Michelle Hofman, Stacy Witko, and Andrea Brown; brother, Harry (Karen) Hurst; sisters: Lois Ann (Donald) Bembry, Barbara Jean (Jerry) Alford, and Karen (Tim) Brown; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, fellow veterans, and all who were blessed to know him.
Aubrey's life was defined by service, dedication, faith, and love for his family and country. His legacy of honor, hard work, and unwavering patriotism will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Aubrey's name to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 1153 US Highway 41, Jasper, FL 32052.
