Obituary

Audrey Faye Morgan "Ank", passed away at the age of 76 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL. on August 12, 2021, following a brief illness.

Faye was born on February 2, 1945 in Valdosta, GA. to the late James and Arveta Pitts. She attended grade school and high school in Valdosta. Following graduation, she married the love of her life Willie Morris Morgan and the two would go on to share 57 years together until his death in December of 2020. In those years together they shared some good and bad times but they always gave credit to their Lord and Savior for how HE provided in their time of need. She will always be credited for being a good and faithful wife, a help-mate on the farm and was always at his side when he needed her. Faye was employed at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center for more than 30 years and when Morris decided to retire, she was not far behind. Faye was the type of mother her children could go to and tell their secrets to. Her daughters learned by her example the ways God desired a wife and mother to live. Faye was known by the nickname "Ank", not only to her children and grandchildren but to many in the community that made their way in and out of her house over the years. Many will testify to the fact that Faye made a mean pound cake and generally had one ready for you to take home. She had a green thumb and had the ability to pot and re-pot plants and she loved to share that gift with others. Sharing was just one of her "gifts" and sharing the love of Jesus was on the top of her list. In her last days, it was important for her to express to her children, grandchildren and healthcare professionals, that there was no fear in death because of the reunion she would have in heaven with her beloved husband Willie Morris and she would soon experience what he experienced when he stepped into the presence of our Lord. Faye was a faithful member of Suwannee Station Baptist Church.

Survivors include her four daughters, Elaine Fry, Jasper, FL., Angie Lee and her husband Chris Lee of White Springs, FL., Gina Morgan Marler of Live Oak, FL. and Sheila Pittman and her husband Jay of Jasper; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her brother and two sisters. Also surviving is special friend of the family, Red Alligood and not to be forgotten, her precious pup Ringo.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Suwannee Station Baptist Church in Suwannee County.
