Audrey Johns Smith, passed away on January 27, 2022 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Burnsville, NC following a brief illness.

Audrey was a native and longtime resident of Hamilton County. She was born on April 30, 1937 to the late William Johns and Hattie Falany Johns. Audrey was first and foremost a child of God. She accepted Christ into her life many years ago and because of her life choices she was blessed with 61 beautiful years with her husband Thomas William Smith, Sr. until his death in December of 2014. She was a homemaker most of her life because she felt that the most important job she could undertake, was being a good wife and taking care of her husband and children. One look at Audrey and it was easy to see why Thomas wanted to marry her. She was a beautiful lady from the inside-out.

Survivors include her two sons, Thomas Smith, Jr. (Janice) of Jennings, FL. and Blake Smith (Kay) of Burnsville, N.C.; her three daughters, Debra Hamm (Joey) of Live Oak, FL., Kim Atkinson (Roger) of Landrum, S.C. and Leslie McKinney (Robert) of Green Mountain, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Jennings, FL.
