Barbara "Babs" Auman, age 75, of Jasper, FL. passed away early Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center. Babs was born on December 27, 1934 to Lawrence and Elizabeth Avriett Burnham. She graduated in 1952 from Jasper High School and went on to attend college at Florida State. Following her days at Florida State she worked for a time as an airline stewardess before going on to work as a laboratory technician with the Federal Civil Service. She was a former resident of Yorktown, Virginia and Suwannee, FL. (Dixie County) before returning to Hamilton County. Mrs. Auman was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, William Boyer Auman, Jasper, FL.; three sons, William Burnham Auman, Newport News, VA., Clayton Bond Auman, Dartmouth, MA., and Bruce Wyles Auman, U.S. Mariner; her mother, Elizabeth Avriett Barrett, Jasper, FL.; one brother, Lawrence "Larry" Burnham, Lake City, FL.; three sisters, Peggy Conners, Sanderson, FL., Kitty Morgan, Jasper, FL.; and Elaine Floyd, Bluffton, SC.; five grandchildren.

Interment services at Evergreen Cemetery were held Wednesday, Oct. 13th.
