Mrs. Barbara Kay (Walker) Johnson, age 49, of Williston, FL., passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Jasper, FL. Barbara was born in Naples, FL. where she lived until moving to Williston in 2005. Barbara enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new recipes and found great joy in seeing people enjoy her creations. Her daughters stated that "Barbara's heart was in the kitchen". When Barbara wasn't in the kitchen, you could find her in the yard. She enjoyed plants of all types and could tell you what almost any plant was just by glancing. She gained much of her plant knowledge from working for a landscaping company in Naples, FL. Plants were one more way that Barbara could share her creativity and love with the people around her. Once she became a grandmother there was rarely a conversation that took place without her mentioning how perfect and cute those little boys are. Both of her grandchildren added much joy to her life. Barbara's battle with cancer was brief, but she fought it with all her strength. She endured all the treatments with one goal in mind, being able to spend time with her loved ones. Barbara rededicated her life to the Lord during this time and wanted others to know that she was going to Heaven.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ernest Johnson of Williston, FL.; three daughters, Julia Lorraine Johnson, Rebecca Ann Johnson, and Emily Elizabeth Johnson all of Williston, FL.; one son-in-law, Javier Damasco of Williston, FL.; two grandsons, Xavier and Xander Damasco both of Williston, FL.; her parents Carla and Shelly Goldie of Jasper, FL, and Bill and Joann Walker of Gurley, AL.; three brothers, Roger Walker (Darlene) of Interlachen, FL., Tony Goldie (Donna) of Live Oak, FL., and James Goldie of Virginia.; one very close uncle, Richard Cunard (Linda), of Naples, FL.; six sisters, Laura Johnson (Robert) of Jasper, FL., Debbie Griffith (Joe) of Jennings, FL., Brenda Heisner (Scott) of Groveland, FL., Tina Smith (Paul) of Naples, FL., Vicky Beach (Rusty) of Bay St. Louis, MS., and Kathy Williams (Jeff) of Chiefland , FL.; mother-in-law, Betty Johnson of Williston, FL.; two brother-in-laws, Troy Johnson of Williston, FL., and Joe Foster (Lynn) of Naples, FL.; numerous nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends.
