Barbara Patricia O'Neal McDaniel, age 67, of Jasper, FL. passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Jasper Assembly of God Church in Jasper, FL.

Interment followed at Hebron Cemetery near Jasper.


Barbara was born in Lake City, FL. on kOctober 22, 1949 to the late Richard Jackson O'Neal Sr. and Doris Mosley O'Neal. She lived in Lake City most of her informative years and graduated from Columbia County High School in 1967. She soon snagged the attention of what would turn out to be her lifelong love Johnny McDaniel. She was employed by the Hamilton County School Board where she drove a school bus for over 20 years. Barbara was the bus driver you wanted for your child. She had a heart of gold and took care of her students as if they were her own children. Barbara was a member of the Jasper Assembly of God Church. Sadly she was preceded in death by her son Charlie Derek McDaniel.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Johnny McDaniel; two sons, Johnny McDaniel and his wife Brenda and Bobby McDaniel, all of Jasper, FL.; one brother, Richard O'Neal, Lake City, FL.; four sisters, Alethia Love, Live Oak, FL., Cornelia Balkom, Lake City, FL., Florence McDaniel, Lake Park, GA. and Sylvia Carter, Jacksonville, FL.; four grandchildren and one on the way.
