Bessie Elizabeth Weaver Corbett, age 73, of Valdosta, GA passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at home. Bessie was born in Hamilton County, FL. and was a longtime resident of Jasper. In 2006, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Huey Corbett. She was a hard worker all of her life and held a variety of jobs, including her last employment at Hamilton Correctional Institution.

Survivors include husband, Dennis Hand of Jasper; two sons, Sammy Izell (Jennifer), Valdosta, GA and Roger Corbett (Vickie), Jasper, FL.; two daughters, Rebecca Addis (Gary), Valdosta, GA and Emmie Rogers (Raymond), Lake Park, GA.; nephew, Jesse Christmas, Jr. of Jasper; 14 grandchildren, 28, great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
