Betty Jean Bennett, age 85, of Echols County, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Lake Park Madison Nursing Center in Madison, FL. surrounded by her family.

Betty Jean was born in Mayday, Georgia on February 12, 1938 to the late Carroll and Nollie Stinson Zeigler. She was the wife of the late Jack T. Bennett. Her last "out of the home job" was as site manager for the Echols County Senior Center but she "worked" all of her adult life to be the best wife and mother a family could ask for. She is remembered as a fine Christian woman and one who tried to raise her children in the way they should go. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and going to the coast fishing.

Survivors include her two sons, Carroll Bennett (Latrice) of Valdosta, GA. and Jackie Bennett of Madison, FL.; her daughter, Peggy Pittman (Ronnie) of Valdosta, GA.; her two brothers, David and Lawrence Zeigler; her two sisters, Ruth Tedder and Nollie White; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Echols County, GA.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
