Betty Tomlinson, age 80, of Jasper, FL. passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL. following a lengthy illness.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Jasper. Many will remember her from those good ole days at the sewing factory but her passion was in the work she did as a C.N.A. Betty loved her family and she loved being in the kitchen cooking for all of them. She raised eight children and several grandchildren. When she had the time she enjoyed being out in the yard gardening or working with her flowers. Betty was a member of the Jasper Assembly of God Church and was a faithful worker in the church as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her daughters Brenda Hopkins and JoAnn Boyd.

Survivors include her six sons, Gerald Swilley (Hannah), Jimmy Mercer (Patricia), Jeffrey Mercer, Ricky Mercer (Hazel), Scooby Mercer (Jana) and Kevin Mercer (Tesha); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive her.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Jasper Assembly of God Church on CR 51.
