Bill Bruce Norris, 91, of Jasper passed away on April 15, 2020 after a short period of declining health. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Evelyn Miller Norris (1998), whom he married on May 9, 1952, as well as his eldest son Billy (2008). He was the last of thirteen siblings.

Bill is survived by his children Jim (Amy) Norris of Jasper, Sylvia (Scott) Manley of Wichita Falls, TX, Tim (Brenda) Norris of Jasper, and Kim (Billy) Evans of White Springs. He also served as devoted and doting grandfather of six, including Yvette Renee Myers, Scarlett Mathis, Jimmy Norris, Andy Norris, Nora Leigh Rogers, and Kaley Evans. He took great delight in his numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and multiple neighbors, whom he considered his extended family.

Bill was born on March 30, 1929 in Jasper to Arthur M. and Willie Burke Norris. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served stateside until his discharge, when he returned home to the Hamilton County. He enjoyed farming for the duration of his life, in addition to a host of other occupations. One of his greatest joys was sharing the fruits and vegetables of his labor with many friends, neighbors, and caregivers. As a devout Christian, his other great joy was to share the gospel of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his desire was that none be lost. He was a patriarchal member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Due to Covid-19, a private ceremony and interment was held with Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Johnson and Brother Ricky Bennett officiating. A celebration of life with his family, friends, and church will be scheduled at a later date.
