Billie E. Padgett, a long-time resident of Echols County, Georgia, passed away on Saturday morning, August 10, 2019, at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Marqueen Padgett of Echols County; daughter, Donna Rouse of Acworth, Georgia; and granddaughter Stephanie Loyd of Echols County, Georgia. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his Naval Service, he had several jobs, but the two he loved the most was being in the Merchant Marines and being a farmer.

Bill had a great sense of humor. He always said that wanted his obituary to say the following: Bill's dead…if he owed you money, God bless you.

It is specifically requested that no flowers be sent due to allergies. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial, funeral or graveside service; however, his family will welcome visitors at the family home in Echols County on Saturday, August 17, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of immediate arrangements.
