James Billy Blair, age 82, of Jennings, FL passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, GA following a lengthy illness.

Billy, a lifetime resident of Hamilton County was born on August 25, 1937, to the late James Olen Blair and Willie Mae Deas Blair. Following his service in the United States Army, he enjoyed a lengthy career as a beloved educator and coach in Hamilton County. In addition to his love for family and friends, anyone who knew Billy would remember his passion for farming and Florida Gator football.

Billy was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Blair and a brother Robert Blair. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carol Buchanan Blair; his children, Marsha Blair Dukes of Valdosta, GA, Billy Blair, Jr. of Jennings, FL, Suzanne Blair and her husband Matt Kluh of Lacey, WA, and Stephen Blair and his wife Sandie of Macon, GA; his sister, Marilyn Blair Gabany of Ormond Beach, FL and his brother, Thomas Dale Blair of Jacksonville, FL. He was also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Trevor Dukes, Tara Dukes, Kyler Blair and Kemper Blair; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Lake Park United Methodist Church in Lake Park, GA. Interment followed at Burnham Christian Church Cemetery in Jennings, FL.
