Billy Clyde Snipes

Billy Clyde Snipes, 81, of Jennings, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida.

Billy was born on September 21, 1944, in Hahira, Georgia, to the late Arthur and Louise Garner Snipes. One of seven children, he lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to his community.

He was the devoted husband of Candice Snipes for 52 years. Billy retired from Occidental (now Nutrien) after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he proudly served as the City Manager of the City of Jennings for eight years.

A longtime member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Billy was a quiet and humble man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved photography, traveling to the mountains, coaching youth baseball and football, and spending time on the golf course with his children. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steady presence, and deep love for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Candice Snipes; his children, Melissa (John) Everett, Keith (Robbi) Snipes, Tommy (Dana) Smith, and Trystan (Lisa) Snipes; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Duggan Snipes and James Snipes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Louise Garner Snipes; his brothers, Charles Snipes, Donald Snipes, and Walter Snipes; and his sister, LaJuana Clark.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with interment to follow at Sasser's Landing Cemetery.
