Billy Carrol Tanner, age 71, of Jasper, FL. passed away at his home on Thursday, May 12, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family.

Billy was born in Homerville, GA. on September 28, 1950, to Lester H. and Jeanette (Gill) Tanner and lived his whole life in Hamilton County. Mr. Tanner retired from the City of Jasper after 30 plus years having worked in various positions such as volunteer firefighter, police dispatcher, and animal control officer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, but he also enjoyed spoiling his grand and great grandbabies. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Hillard Tanner, Trenton Tanner and Sammy Tanner; and his sisters, Faye Boyd and Maria Batz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Linda L. Tanner; his sons, Billy H. Tanner (Michelle) and Bobby Land; daughters, Loretta Taylor (Chris), Chasity Padgett (Richard) and Leanne Starling (Mike); brothers, Ed Tanner and Roger "Gator" Tanner; his sisters, Sandra Streat, Frances Thornton and Betty Jo Hodges; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive Billy.
