Blanche Kathryn Lyons, age 97, of Dowling Park, FL. passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Shands at U.F. in Gainesville, FL. Mrs. Lyons was born in Hamilton County, FL. on April 1, 1913 to the late James and Rebecca Carmichael. The family moved in her early childhood to Suwannee County where she lived most of her life. She retired from Advent Christian Village where she worked for 22 years in the nursing department. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Lyons.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Bell (Lester), White Springs, FL.; one brother, Price Carmichael, Tallahassee, FL.; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Dowling Park Cemetery with Rev. Jack Jones officiating.
