IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby Ray
"Br549" Sistrunk
June 24, 1936 – September 18, 2021
Bobby Ray "BR549" Sistrunk, age 85, of Live Oak, FL. passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL.
Bobby Ray was born in White Springs, FL. on June 24, 1936 to the late Talmadge and Jessie Wooten Sistrunk. Bobby left school to join the United States Army and served his country honorably. Bobby retired from Occidental Chemical Company where he worked in a supervisory position. He was a longtime resident of White Springs and would likely have died there were it not for losing his home to a house fire in 2015. It was then that he and his wife Sybil moved to Live Oak to be near their daughter and her family. "BR" always had a joke to tell you and usually it was even funnier after a day on the river or the flats fishing. Just like the fish, the tales just got bigger as the day grew longer. He also enjoyed going to the hunting woods, playing his harmonica and be "Papa" to his only granddaughter, Jessika.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sybil Bonnell Sistrunk; his son Bryan Sistrunk of White Springs; his daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Fred Schautz of Live Oak, FL.; granddaughter, Jessika Hinkle (Mack); and two great grandchildren, Riley and Ramsey; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in White Springs, FL.
