Brenda Gail Mercer Hopkins, age 49, Jasper, FL., passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at her home following a brief illness. Brenda was a native of Jasper and was employed by Hamilton Correctional. She was preceded in death by her father, James Mercer.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Hopkins (Rachael) and Joshua Hopkins, all of Jasper; one daughter, Angela Brady (Dominic), Jennings, FL.; her mother, Betty Tomlinson, Jasper, FL.; six brothers, Jerry Swilley, Jasper, FL., Jimmy Mercer, Monticello, FL.; Jeff Mercer, Georgia, Ricky Mercer, Cliff "Scooby" Mercer and Kevin Mercer, all of Jasper, FL.; one sister, Toni Joann Boyd, Jasper; nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, 2012 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
