Mr. Carley Eugene "Zip" Zipperer, age 83, of Live Oak, FL. passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL.

Services were on Friday, June 2, 2017 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.


Carley was born August 7, 1933 in Plant City, FL. to the late Carley and Martha Stalvey Zipperer. He was a truck driver for Gene Hyde Trucking in Lakeland, FL. for many years. In addition to driving a truck he was a mechanic and was known to most people by the nickname "Zip". Mr. Zipperer was preceded in death by his wife Alyene Zipperer, two daughters, Emma Jewell Horton and Elisa Zipperer and a son, Carley Zipperer, Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Sara Kathryn "Frankie" Visquera (Ronnie) and Cora Laverne Foxx (Rex); his mother, Frances Laverne Lewis: five brothers, Martin, Ira, Bryan, Michael and Lee Zipperer; four sisters, Kathryn Murray, Avieline Britton, Carla Zipperer and Dena Pollard; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.


Per his request Mr. Zipperer will be cremated.
