Caroline Bennett Gritz, 74, of Statenville, GA, passed away on October 16, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on April 16, 1950, in Statenville to Clifford and Ida Bennett, Caroline spent her life in the community she loved so dearly.
Caroline had a zest for life, finding joy in the simple pleasures. She loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing or tending to her beautiful flowers. She was also a skilled pool player, and one of her favorite pastimes was riding the dirt roads of rural South Georgia and North Florida, which brought her an immense sense of peace and contentment.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was baptized at Harvest Fellowship Church in Jasper, FL, by Pastor Jerry Thomason. Her love for Jesus guided her and her interactions with those she cared for.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Jeff Gritz, and her children, Carolee Law (Jonathan) of White Springs, FL, Angela Beems (Gary) of Michigan, and Nolan Rowell of Waycross, GA, and her red headed step-child, Billy Willis. She was a proud grandmother to Michael Beems, Nyla Beems, Brett Tucker, Branden Tucker, Clyde Tucker, Meyah Bennett, Makeya Bennett, Makenzie Bennett, Carter Law, Josephine Richardson, and Austin Miller. Her great-grandchildren, Emmalynn Tucker, Jaxon Tucker, Rowan Richards, and Cyrus Richards were also among the many blessings of her life. Caroline also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who held special places in her heart.
Caroline was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Bennett; her brothers, Cleo Bennett, W.C. Bennett, Roosevelt Bennett, and Alfred Bennett; and her sister, Jewell Bennett Sapp.
Funeral services will be held at Harvest Fellowship Church in Jasper, FL, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation just prior at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Staten Cemetery in Statenville, GA.
Caroline's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her as they cherish the countless memories and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
