Charles D. Gunther, age 84, of Sebastian, FL. passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009.
Mr. Gunther was a native of New York City, NY. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Coral Springs Police Dept. and was a former resident of Jasper, Florida. Mr. Gunther was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army where he fought bravely during the invasion at Omaha Beach on the coastline at Normandy.
He is survived by one son, Charles D. Gunther, Jr. (Teresa) and one daughter, Donna Lee Burtrem (Scott); six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Ebbie Ball Provenzano.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, FL.
