Obituary

Charles Grant Lambert, 63, of Jennings, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Largo, Florida.

Charles was born on July 10, 1961, and spent his early years in DeLand, Florida, before his family settled in Jennings, where he made his lifelong home. He served his community with pride as a police officer and, at one time, as Chief of Police in Jennings. A man of faith, Charles was a Christian who carried his beliefs with him in all aspects of his life.

Charles first met his loving wife, Brenda, on the back of a fire truck—a meeting that would become one of the most meaningful moments of his life. Later their love story blessed him with two beautiful children, who remained the pride of his heart—until the grandchildren arrived.

He had a love for farming, Florida State football, and irritating those closest to him in the most mischievous ways. In his later years, Charles found great joy in visiting Indiana, spending time with numerous cousins and extended family. Jim and his family, along with Danny, were always excited to see him. These trips often resulted in the acquisition of 'fine farm equipment'—which others might have called junk, but Charles saw as hidden treasures. He was always planning to tinker with and fix old tractors, hoping to pass at least two of them along one day to his grandsons, Jace and Crew, who brought new joy to his life

Charles was a man of many phrases, notably "we will see" or "let's talk about it later," which usually meant the plan would unfold last-minute but with full intention. Rarely did he say "no." He valued doing things on his own terms and always aimed to have the last word. Raised by a man who believed his way was the best way, Charles proudly carried that torch.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Lambert; his children, Britney and Adam Cheshire, and Cyler Lambert; his grandchildren, Jace and Crew Cheshire; his brother, Clay Lambert; sister, Carla Rizer (Craig), and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Charles's life is being planned for next Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM at his family church, Burnham Christian Church.
We will gather to honor and remember him with love. Additional details, including plans for a later ceremony following the return of his ashes, will be shared with family and friends in the coming days.

Charles will be remembered for his stubborn charm and the love he had for his family and friends.

Psalm 34:18 the lord is near the brokenhearted and He sees your pain and He is faithful to comfort you.
