Christy Gerome Beaty, age 73, of Jennings, FL. passed away on June 1, 2023, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following a brief illness.

Christy was born on September 11, 1949, to the late Alonzo and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor Beaty. Christy worked for a time with Occidental Chemical Co. but then left and went to work in the air conditioning business as an electrician. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and like his father, was an avid Florida Gator fan. Because his true preference of the Gators was so well known to his friends, he would often wear the cap of another college team just to antagonize and get a rise out of his fellow Gator friends and family. He took up woodworking later in life and made miniature houses and like pieces as gifts for family and friends. He was solid and if he was your friend, you HAD a friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Sonny Beaty.

Survivors include his brother, Gerald Beaty and his wife Earlene; his two sisters, Rhonda Smith and Candice Snipes and her husband Billy, all of Jennings, FL.; and while he had no children of his own, he took pride in his three nephews and four nieces.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Jennings, FL. Interment followed at Sassers Landing Cemetery near Jennings.
