Colan "Elmer" Williams, age 74, of Jasper, FL. passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lake City VA Hospital in Lake City, FL. Elmer was born in Pembroke, GA. to the late Otis and Myrtle Parrish Williams. Before retiring, he worked for the Hamilton County School Board in the maintenance department as a painter. Elmer served his country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Alvie.
Survivors include three brothers, Eugene Williams, Orange Vale, CA., Radford Harvey (Hilda), Lake City, FL. and David Harvey (Carol), Jasper, FL.; sister in law, Eleanor Williams, Denmark, GA.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. L.D. Van Vleck officiating.
Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local VFW post.
