Daniel Lee "Danny" Newsome
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Lee "Danny" Newsome, who left us on October 9, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida, at the age of 74. Danny was born on December 25, 1950, in Hahira, Georgia, to Joda William Newsome Sr. and Ruth Lucille Mathis, both of whom preceded him in death.
Danny was a retired employee of PCS, where he dedicated many years of hard work. Beyond his professional life, he was a man of many passions. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, and found joy in cooking and building things with his hands. His ability to fabricate and create was unmatched, and he took great pride in sharing his knowledge and skills with others. Above all, Danny was known for his storytelling—always funny, full of life, and guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone who listened.
Danny is survived by his loving daughters Jennifer Bradley (Bo), Jessica Newsome (Hoss), Hannah Newsome (Sprayberry), and Haley Parrish (Bailey), as well as his beloved grandson, William Bates Bradley. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Blaylock (John), Nell Lynn (Robert), Jamie Newsome, Dianna Woodard (Scotty), and LaDonna Wagers (Scott); his brother-in-law Paul Knight (Vonnie); nephew David Ehlert (Andrea); godson Troy Eaton, and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Joda William Newsome Jr., Tommy Newsome, and Barney Newsome, and his sisters Joanne Knight and Linda Ehlert.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Danny's honor on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, Florida, beginning at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend and share in the memories of this remarkable man.
Danny's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
