Danny Smith, born September 8, 1950, to Elza and Melba Smith, lived a full and busy life surrounded by family, work, and the outdoors he loved. He grew up with four brothers—Joel, Mickey, Ronnie, and Gary—and together they made more memories than most families could fit into one lifetime.

Danny married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Dedge, and they raised two sons, Branden and Shannon. He was a proud Papa to Jacob, Sarah, and Brady, who always brought a smile to his face.

He spent his life running Smith Brothers Construction Co with his brother Ronnie, keeping the family trade alive. For a while, he and his brother Joel even tackled life on an alligator farm. Life was meant to be lived adventurously, and Danny never turned down a challenge.

When he wasn't working, you could find him in nature—hunting and fishing with his loyal German Shepherd, Lucy. He loved his family, loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Services will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Jasper. Viewing will be from 10:00–11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
