Danny Randall Spicer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on August 26, 1949, in Moultrie, GA.  Danny was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Spicer, his mother, Idell Herrod Spicer Welch, his stepfather, "Pop" Welch and his sister, Judy Lytle. Danny's journey touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark of love and service.

Danny's unwavering dedication to his community spanned over three decades, as he served with distinction as a Sheriff's Deputy for 33 years. The majority of his career was spent protecting and serving the citizens of Lowndes County, with an additional two years of honorable service at the Brooks County Sheriff's Office. Danny's commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of others was not merely a profession but a calling he pursued with passion and integrity.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Danny was a proud Mason and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished moments spent fishing, but his greatest source of happiness came from being surrounded by his family. Danny's grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Judy Spicer, his sons Jeff Cox (Sue) of Jennings, and Kevin Cox (Cathy) of Jasper. He is also survived by his niece, Dorrie Millican (Joyie) of Steinhatchie, FL, and his nephew, David Lytle (Julie) of Idaho. Danny's memory will be forever cherished by his grandchildren: Kristin Carter (Connor), Jeffrey Cox (Jenny), Kevin Cox Jr. (Madi), Jacob Cox (Alicia), Kelly Cox, and Jackson Cox, as well as his great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Judd, Carson, Cayson, Keltsey, Cashton, Kinsley, and Jolene.

In accordance with Danny's wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. However, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a time of visitation at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
