David Timothy "Timmy" Hurst, age 69, passed away on August 26, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Timmy was born on December 19, 1951 in Madison, FL. to the late Thomas Bishop "Bish" Hurst and Edith King Hurst. He grew up in the north-western corner of Hamilton County on the family farm where there was work involved but he also enjoyed the freedoms of living in a small community with so many others that loved to get out and ride the country roads, fishing and hunting and going to the springs. He learned to fish early on and it was something he had a passion for throughout his lifetime. Timmy enjoyed the fellowship of getting together and frying those fish he worked "so hard" to catch. He was not small in stature and was thus referred to as the gentle giant. Life might not have always been full of good times but it seemed that Timmy always had an innate ability to find the good. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew as being a jolly old soul, picking and teasing and always full of laughter. As a young man, he joined the ranks of so many in Hamilton County in the mines of Occidental/PCS and it was there he retired some seven years ago. He made many friends along the way and he leaves behind the memories of a life well lived.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sandy Hurst; his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and George Bell, all of Jasper, FL.; nieces, a nephew and a host of great nieces and great nephews. Not to be left out, he leaves behind his sidekick, pup Barney.

Graveside services were held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Corinth Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Gary Abbott and Bro. Jason Justus.
