Dexter Franklin Johnson, age 55, of Jennings, FL. passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Gainesville VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. following a brief illness. Dexter was born on May 22, 1956 in Valdosta, GA. to Doyle L. Johnson and Grace Baker Johnson. He was a retired Army/Air Force Veteran and was a commercial diving instructor. Mr. Johnson also worked at Winn Dixie in Lake Park, GA. and attended Burnham Christian Church near Jennings. Dexter was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Johnson.

Survivors include one son, Michael Johnson and his wife Laurel of Greenville, GA.; his mother and step father, Grace and Ed Taylor of Jennings, FL.; one brother, Robert Johnson and his wife Carol of Gray Court, S.C.; three grandchildren, Nikolas, Shelby and Autum Johnson.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 1, 2011 at Burnham Christian Church.

There was a graveside committal service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1st at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, GA.
