IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diana Faye
Peterson Morgan
October 5, 1945 – March 11, 2022
In the early morning hours of March 11, surrounded by her loving family, Diana passed into the Sweet By and By where she was received into the arms of Jesus. Diana was born in Brunswick, Georgia on October 5, 1945 to the late D.W. Peterson and Doris Harrison Peterson, she grew up in Jasper in a large close-knit family (including 39 first cousins). She graduated from Jasper High School in 1963. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor and sorely missed for her exceptional Southern cooking. Diana was a people person and always seemed to find her niche in the workplace where she would be in service to others. Early on she worked at the Hamilton County Extension Office and through her work she was able to be involved with 4-H program helping bring generations together and was able to help so many in the community. She worked for a time at Occidental but being the entrepreneur that she was, she ended up in the place she loved most and that was as the owner/operator of The Brimming Basket in Lake City, FL. Diana had many health problems over the years but she had a "Never Give Up-Never Give In" spirit. She was determined to live her life to the fullest for as long as she had. She was a Christian with a strong faith. It was a faith she shared with her husband which made all things possible as long as they worked at it together. Within hours of her passing, her husband and children reflected that while they all faced the day with heavy hearts, they knew her suffering was over. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery David Sirmans, her parents, D.W. and Doris Peterson and her brother, Danny Peterson.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Alan Morgan of White Springs, FL.; one son, Hamp Sirmans of Cork, Ireland; three daughters, Cindy Carter (Steve) of Jennings, FL., Tracy Thornton (Stan) of Greer, S.C., and Melinda Tse (Peter) of Orford, New Hampshire; her brother, Johnny Peterson (Carole) of Jasper, FL.; one sister, Alyce Gayle Howell (Carl) of Greer, S.C.; and eleven grandchildren, Hali, John Paul, Thomas, Sam, Ben, Lilia, Henry, Eliza, Bethany, David and Clara.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in White Springs, FL. with her son Pastor Hamp Sirmans officiating.
