IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane Mccracken
Henderson
January 11, 1942 – November 20, 2024
Diane McCracken Henderson, lovingly known as "Di" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away after a long battle with illness on November 20, 2024. Born on January 11, 1942, Diane filled her 82 years with love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Diane was a supervisor at Jasper Textile in Jasper, FL, for 28 years. Her strong work ethic and cheerful demeanor made her a cornerstone of the workplace, where she was admired and respected. Beyond work, Diane's warmth and positivity made her a ray of sunshine everywhere she went—whether engaging with acquaintances out in the community or chatting with customers at her daughter's hair salon. Her infectious smile and heartfelt conversations brought joy to everyone she met.
Though Diane found enjoyment in all she did, family was the center of her world. Nothing was more important over the years than helping her daughters, Dawn and Dana, care for her precious grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. After her retirement, she extended that same love and care to her great-grandchildren, who held a particularly special place in her heart. For her, they "hung the moon." Planning family gatherings and celebrating life's milestones with her loved ones were among her greatest joys.
A member of New Hope Baptist Church, Diane maintained her faith throughout her life, listening to services from home when attending became difficult. She drew strength from her faith and extended that strength and love to everyone around her.
Diane is survived by her daughters, Dawn Adams Combass (Mike) of Jasper and Dana Smith (Tommy) of Jasper; her brothers, E.J. McCracken (Judy) of Madison, FL, and Johnny McCracken of Opelika, AL; her grandchildren, Dawson Adams, Ragan Carnley (Johnathon), Hunter Smith, Taylor Smith, and Thomas Combass; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Carnley, Preston Carnley, Easton Carnley, and River Combass; her dear friend, Terry Hughes; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Cora McCracken, and her son-in-law, Preston Adams.
A graveside service to honor Diane's life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. Diane's legacy of love, kindness, and radiant joy will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
