Donald Melvin Hilliard, age 87, of Jasper, FL. passed away at Surrey Place in Live Oak, FL. on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Donald was born in Michigan on January 7, 1934 to a loving mother, Ruth Hilliard. By God's good graces, his life path brought he and his wife, Dorothy to Jasper, FL. in 1997 where he made many friends. He moved to Jasper from Stuart, FL. Some will remember Donald from his time at Foodway while others from Home Depot in Valdosta. Donald was a "doer" and was willing to jump on any project that needed attention. Most of his career was spent as a plumber but his abilities reached well beyond plumbing. He and his wife were members at the First United Methodist Church of Jasper and he spent countless hours helping with projects at the church. He was interested in the programs and is fondly remember for readings with the children in the church children's ministry in addition to being instrumental in helping to organize the very successful clothes closet ministry at the church. He enjoyed his time in solitude with his TV watching football, lots of football.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Dorothy Hilliard; his children, Robert Hilliard, Donald Hilliard, William Hilliard, Kathleen Hansen and Dineen Hilliard as well as step-children, Harry Ryan, Russell Magoon, Matthew Ryan and Wendy Hornberger. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on February 13, 2021. Time will be announced later this week.
