Donald Wayne Tharp, age 52, of Jennings, FL. passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Shands at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville following a very brief illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Edgar Wood officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.


Donald Wayne was born on December 27, 1961 in Chipley, FL. He was a late Christmas present for proud parents Willie and Etta Mae Tucker Tharp. He was a well-known parts man for Ford Motor Company known for his work over the years at both Walts Live Oak Ford and Roundtree Ford in Lake City. He was a member of Pentecostal Deliverance Center in Jennings. He had a deep faith in the Lord and tried to live his life so that others could see Jesus in him. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather. Donald Wayne was predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Stephanie Daughtery Tharp of Jennings; two sons, Kelsey Wayne Tharp of Jennings and Justin Gurganus and his wife Shannon of Jasper, FL.; one daughter, Tiffanee Moody of Jasper; two brothers, Robert Tharp and his wife Lynda of Panama City, FL. and Jerry Tharp and his wife Alice of Marianna, FL.; one sister, Diane Gordon and her husband Bobby of Monticello, GA.; one granddaughter, Kinsley Marie Gurganus.
