Doris E. Cone (Williamson), of Jasper, Florida, passed away at home on April 15, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1946, in Suwannee County, Florida, to the late Exie E. Paul.

Doris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was a testament to love, faith, strength, and devotion to family. She was married for 63 wonderful years to the love of her life, Farley M. Cone. Together they built a life rich in love, enduring faith, and precious family memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Doris lived a life of hard work, dedication, and compassion. Over the years, she worked in many different fields, beginning as a Forest Service tower operator. She later worked at Thriftway, served as a substitute teacher and volunteer at Greenwood School, worked in the Sheriff Office, practiced as a cosmetologist, and faithfully gave her later working years to Hamilton County Corrections. In every role she held, Doris brought quiet strength, kindness, and a deep sense of responsibility.

She found joy in life's simple blessings. Doris loved playing cards, especially canasta, working puzzles, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying beach trips and having fun in the sun. She also loved buying plants and doing her best to make them survive, something that reflected her hopeful and nurturing spirit.

Doris was especially proud of her family. She was the proud mother of Chuck, James, and Ray, and her heart was full knowing that all three of her sons served their country in the United States military. Her pride in them was unwavering. She also deeply loved her adopted son, Scott Stewart, and opened her heart not only to her own family, but also to neighborhood children and any child she felt needed love, guidance, and care. She had a special way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

More than anything, Doris cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life and one of her greatest blessings. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her faithful spirit, her steady strength, and the kindness she so freely gave to others.

She is survived by her sons, Farley "Chuck" Cone Jr. (Nicole) of Milton, Florida, James Cone (Candy) of Jasper, Florida, and Ray Cone (Amanda) of Valdosta, Georgia; her brothers, Jim Miller and Bert Yarbrough (Linda); her sisters-in-law, Peggy Duncan, Mary Sublett (Bill), Joyce Wells (Andy), and Tammy Berger (Bob); her brother-in-law, Johnny Carroll; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Michelle, B.J., Ryan, Gabriel, Alayna, Ridge, Trevor, Dallas, Nathan, and Andrew; 11 great-grandchildren; and the neighborhood sons she called family.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Farley M. Cone; her mother, Exie E. Paul; her brother, Tommy Yarbrough; her great-granddaughter, Amelia Flannigan; her brothers-in-law, Jimmie Cone and Tommy Cone; her sisters-in-law, Jean Carroll, Lavonne Browning, and Ruth Miller; and her nephew, Russell Duncan.

A funeral service to honor Doris’s life will be held on April 20th 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, Florida, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Florida, in Madison County.

Though she will be deeply missed, Doris's legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
