Dorothy Nell Creech King, affectionately known as "Granny Dot," passed away on June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. Born on October 28, 1942, in High Springs, FL, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Ollie and Janie Creech.

Dorothy retired from the Hamilton County Road Department after 17 years of dedicated service as a secretary. Before her time with Hamilton County, she served as a substitute teacher and mail carrier, touching many lives in her community.

Above all, Dorothy found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her abundant love and nurturing spirit were evident in the way she raised her children at home, providing a warm and loving environment before beginning her career outside the home. Her grandchildren were her treasures, and she relished every moment spent with them.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, David King of Jasper; her son, Jeffrey David King of Jasper; her daughters, Donna Hughes (Jodi) of Jasper, Gina Townsend (Brian) of White Springs, and Laurie Cribbs (Dustin) of Live Oak, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Creech (Serena) of Jasper, and her sister, Edna Johnson (Charles) of Jasper. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Austin King (Brittany), Justin King (Emily), Amanda Petty (Lane), Matthew Hughes (Kali), Joshua Townsend (Lexi), Brent Cribbs, Kevin Cribbs, and Haley Cribbs, as well as her three great-grandchildren: Jackson, Chase, and Kyndall.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Jordan, and her brothers, Vernon Creech and Bobby Creech.

A graveside service to honor Dorothy's life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Haven Hospice.

Dorothy's memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
