Obituary
Doyle Laverne Grantham, age 80, of Jasper, FL. passed away early on Friday morning December 18, 2015 at Haven Hospice following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Jasper with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Laverne was born in Suwannee County on February 17, 1935 to the late Emery and Nellie Hurst Grantham. He served as Jasper's Fire Chief from 1973-1994. Following his retirement he managed Grantham Trucking from 1995-2004. Laverne served in the Florida National Guard for 10 years and was also a member of the Sheriff's Mounted Posse. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Irene Geiger Grantham; three sons, Jimmy, Gary and Kevin Grantham; one daughter, Vikkie Grantham; two brothers, Drew and John "Rufus" Grantham; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
