Obituary

Dwain Worthey, of Jasper, FL. passed away at his home on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 63.

Dwain was a native of Highland Park, Illinois. He was a successful business owner and operator with his wife Pamela by his side, also lovingly known as "his fat girl". Anyone thinking his nickname for her disrespectful, obviously did not know the camaraderie the two shared, just how much he loved her and how incredibly petite she is.

When Dwain wasn't working, he loved fishing in what he referred to as his old dinosaur boat. He loved old cars and motorcycles. Dwain was a kid at heart and was a Hot Wheels enthusiast. He collected thousands of them. He would often divide them into boxes that he kept with him at all times. Given the permission of parents all over the United States, he shared a Hot Wheels car with any child he came in contact with. He loved helping others and by sharing his collection, he was sharing a little bit of joy and bringing a smile to a child's face who might otherwise not have his or her own collection or the opportunity to ever have one.

Dwain was predeceased by his mother, Penney Pry; Grandpa and Grandma Smallwood; his father, Virgil D. Wothey; his brothers, Michael Lowman and Mac McDonald; his sister, Penney Scott; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Bellflower.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Worthey; the children and grandchildren they shared, Misty Herndon (Gerald), Destiny Worthey, Dwain Worthey (Maggie), John Byrd (Amanda) and Christina Byrd; his brother, Johnnie Raymond (Danielle, Harley and Naudia) and Shaine Pry (Claire); his sister, Sharon Grantham. Their grandchildren, Karoline, Katheryne and Kennadie Herndon, JaeLynn Hart, Teiraney and Terry Lemming, Kale and Carter Worthey, Arickson and Derikson Byrd, John Kyser, JJ, Bentley, Jordan, Tori and Cheyann Byrd; also surviving is Barbara Fink, lifelong friend and mother of his children.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the family home.

Dwain will be greatly missed by those he loved and that truly loved him. The world is a little dimmer now!!!
