IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Sanford
Hotchkiss
May 22, 1931 – December 20, 2020
Edward Sanford Hotchkiss, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home in Jennings, FL. surrounded by his family. Ed was born in New Haven, Connecticut on May 22, 1931 to the late Sanford and Evelyn McKegg Hotchkiss. He joined the United States Air Force and made a career of it. Following retirement from the Air Force he continued to work jobs as a driver to support his family well into his late seventies. He made his home in Tampa, FL. for a time and while there he was a volunteer firefighter. In his spare-time he enjoyed riding motorcycles. His passion however was leathercraft and was known for his personalized wallets and belts. He enjoyed flying simulator air planes on his computer and once took the journey online as far as Canada. He was also gifted in the woodshop and when it was evident that his late wife Betty was not going to live long, Ed went to work and designed and built her casket, a difficult task at best but rewarding just the same as it was the last thing he built her. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, Betty and his son, Kevin Hotchkiss just four short weeks ago.
Survivors include his son, Paul Sanford Hotchkiss (Cindy) of Lake Park, GA., Glenn Lewis Hotchkiss (Darlene) of Valdosta, GA., and Brian Edward Hotchkiss (Diane) of Jennings, FL.; also surviving is his daughter-in-law, Lisa Hotchkiss; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
