Edward McDonald, age 81, of Jennings, FL. passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following an illness of some time. Mr. McDonald was a native of Jennings, FL. born on March 5, 1930 to the late Wesley and Bessie Mae Pittman McDonald. He served his country in the United States Navy before settling into a career in cosmetology. He was past president of the Florida Cosmetology Association. He was a longtime resident of the Lakeland, FL. area where he operated a cosmetology school. Following his retirement, he returned to his childhood roots in Hamilton County. He was active at the First Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. where he enjoyed singing in the choir.

Survivors include his sister, Gladys Prine, Jennings; nephews, John B. Prine and Robert W. Prine (Karen); nieces, Donna Perry (Dave), Debra Boyd (Larry) and Rebecca McEnany (Blake); numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; one uncle, James F. Pittman also survives.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings, FL. Interment followed at Sassers Landing Cemetery in Jennings.
