Edward Isaac Taylor, age 88, of Jennings, FL. passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home. Mr. Taylor was born on October 31, 1924 in O'Brien, Florida to the late John Levy Taylor and Esther Collins Taylor. He was a former resident of Jasper, FL. and Jacksonville, FL. He was the owner and operator of Taylor Diesel Services in Jacksonville until he retired and moved to Jennings in 1984. Mr. Taylor was a member of Burnham Christian Church near Jennings where he was always very active. Taylor was a strong leader and always involved in churches wherever he happened to be living and took a special interest in Campus Crusade for Life Ministries as well. Mr. Taylor was a World War II Veteran of the United States Marines. He was preceded by his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Alice Benton Taylor, a grandson, Joseph O. Miller, III, numerous brothers and sisters and a step son, Dexter Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Taylor, Jennings, FL.; two sons, Edward I. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Debby and Courtney Hohmann and his wife Cynthia, all of Jacksonville, FL.; a daughter, Colleen Miller and her husband Joe of Jacksonville; a step son, Robert Johnson and his wife Carol of Gray Court, S.C.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2013 at Burnham Christian Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
