Edwin Lee Manheim, age 75, of Jasper, FL. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.
Following the service, at his request, Mr. Manheim will be cremated.

Flowers will be accepted but the family has expressed a desire for memorials to be made to: Haven Hospice 6037 West U.S. Hwy 90, Lake City, FL. 32055.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.


Ed (A.K.A.: Mr. Professional Shopper) was a native of Iowa City, Iowa. He was a longtime resident of Hamilton County where he worked for many years as a weigh master at PCS. Ed is fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and step-father. In his spare time Ed loved to get his hands on a good wood working project. After some years of enjoying this hobby it was discovered that he might actually have had more fun "shopping" for the project, which is how he earned his nick name. It is rumored that there will be many store managers that will miss their favorite professional shopper. Ed was well known in his Hamilton County having lived in White Springs and Jasper. His easy personality and willingness to help others made him easy to love. Missing him already.

Surviving Mr. Manheim is his wife of 31 years, Ruth Manheim; two sons, Mark Eagan of Bradley, FL. and Bill Eagan and his wife Katherine of Lakeland, FL.; two step-daughters, Nita Hurst and her husband John, Jennings, FL. and Sue Richards and her husband Jimmy of Madison, FL.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
