Elaine Culpepper Henderson, of Echols County, GA., passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta at the age of 83.
Elaine was born in Homerville, GA. on August 29, 1939 to the late James E. and Cuba Kinsey Culpepper and was a lifelong resident of Echols County. Elaine was a graduate of Echols County High School and was a member of the Statenville Church of God. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, W.R. Henderson, her two brothers, Vernon Culpepper and Brooks Culpepper and her sister, LuVerne Wheeler.
Survivors include her children, Wendy Tatum (Daryl) and Lonnie Padgett (Jody), all of Echols County; her three grandchildren, Heather Castleberry (Brean) of Echols County, Brittany Dasher (Austin) of Lowndes County, Harlie Taylor (Justin), Echols County; her eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Castleberry, Tristin Castleberry and Levi Castleberry, of Echols County, Hayden Dasher and Rayleigh Dasher of Lowndes County, Raelyn Dowling, Jace Taylor and Coltin Taylor, all of Echols County. Elaine has two surviving sisters, Sandy Rentz of Lake Park, GA. and Nell Hughes of Echols County, GA.; Special friends, Caron Padgett (Donnie Sanders) and Brenda Stalvey (David).
Graveside services were held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Kinsey Cemetery.
