IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth "Ann"
Hinton
May 2, 1959 – January 18, 2023
Elizabeth Ann Hinton, of Jasper, FL. passed away at her home on January 18, 2023 at the age of 63.
She was best known to us as Ann, that beautiful curly headed girl with that big, beautiful smile. While her departure from this world may come as a surprise to some, it was no surprise to Ann. She had spent the last while not feeling well at all, but she always tried and was mostly successful at covering because it was in her nature to "be there" for others.
She was born to proud parents, George Lee "G.L." and Rosie Pittman Selph on May 2, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL. She met the boy of her dreams in February of 1978 and by December he put a ring on her finger and the father of the bride gave his little girl away on August 10, 1979 to become Mrs. James Hinton of Jasper. Ann became a para-professional and worked for the Hamilton County School System for many years. Ann would cook and take food to school for children she knew would come to school hungry and she would take children home after ballgames because she wanted them to be able stay and enjoy extracurricular activities and she knew without the promise of a ride home, they would not have been allowed to join. Ann and James shared the birth of two children, Leeann and James Jr. and they would ultimately make them grandparents. With each announcement Ann would say, well another boy will be just fine and so when she joined the group on FB called "Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons", she knew she would be seeing her own life flash before her eyes. One such post was "It's my honor, my privilege, my blessing to love my grandchildren. I don't care how old they are, they're mine to love for life" it was as if she had written it herself because that is how deeply and passionately she loved her grandchildren. Ann was always a helpmate to James and she was good to help him when his parents, Owen and Sybil Hinton were nearing their final days. Ann was a daddy's girl and she felt a deep loss when her own father passed away in 2017 but she was also a good and faithful daughter to her mother and Ann enjoyed spending her last days visiting with her mother as if she knew time was short and sweet memories should be left in her absence. Ann was successful in her efforts to "be there" for others her entire life and she has left us all with sweet memories.
