Elizabeth Flatscher Sauls, resident of Walker, Louisiana, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 29, 2026. She was 91 years old and just five days before her 92nd Birthday!
She was born on February 4, 1934, in Siegsdorf, Germany and grew up there. She met her husband and love of her life, Zollie Oscar Sauls, of Echols County, Georgia, during the Korean War in Germany in 1952. She legally immigrated to the United States and married Zollie on June 16, 1955, at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
Most significantly and with great diligence, she worked to learn the English language, studied American history, and fulfilled all requirements to become a citizen of the United States of America. On December 12, 1969, she stood before a judge, swore allegiance to the United States of America, and was granted her Certificate of Naturalization in Jacksonville, Florida and became a citizen of the United States.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church Interlachen, Florida and served the Lord through the Food for Life ministry. Elizabeth and Zollie served in a nursing home ministry with Ron and Linda Penrod in Starke, Florida. Later, they served the Lord as members of Seminole First Baptist Church in Seminole, Florida. In her last years, Elizabeth was an active part of Springville Baptist Church in Livingston, Louisiana.
