Obituary

Emma "Faye" Duncan Culbreth, 82, of Jennings, FL, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025. Born on October 4, 1942, in Live Oak, Florida, Faye was the daughter of Walter and Naomi Duncan. She lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Faye worked as a secretary for the Florida Department of Children and Families before retiring. Earlier in her career, she worked in the finance office at Hamm's Hardware in Jasper, Florida, for Charles Hamm. She was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality and left a positive impact on everyone she worked with.

Faye loved sports, especially football and baseball, and she enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Her greatest joy, though, was spending time with babies, delighting in their laughter and energy.

A long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church in Jennings, FL, Faye was deeply rooted in her faith. She believed in the importance of raising her children in the church and made it a priority to instill a strong foundation of faith and values in their lives. Every Sunday, Faye brought her three sons to church. Her dedication to their spiritual upbringing was a testament to her unwavering belief in the power of faith and community. Family was Faye's world. She poured her love into raising her three sons and was a constant source of support and care for her loved ones. Her home was always a place of warmth and togetherness.

Faye is survived by her three sons: Neal Culbreth (Angie) of Valdosta, GA, Eric Culbreth (Doreen) of Jennings, FL, and Bruce Culbreth of Jennings, FL. She is also survived by her brothers, Ricky Duncan and Len Duncan, and her sister, Lawanna Meeks. Faye's love and legacy live on through her eight grandchildren: Kimberly Otero (Brian), Chris Delrossi, Scott Culbreth, Chelsea Aman, Justin Culbreth (Ellie), Alyssa Culbreth, Miranda Stubbs (Taylor), and Shelby Culbreth, as well as her three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert O'Neal Culbreth, and her brothers, Mike Duncan and Walter Duncan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Jennings, FL. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. to honor and celebrate Faye's remarkable life.

Faye will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Her kind heart, strong faith, and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered.
