Emmett Hutto, age 68 of Gainesville, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was born July 19, 1946 in Ocala to Emmett, Sr. and Dannie Adams Hutto. He grew up in Orange Lake and went to school in Reddick. He was a member of the 1st graduating class of North Marion High School in Sparr. Emmett managed Hurricane Batteries until 1991 when he purchased it and renamed it Hurricane Alternator & Starter. He sold it when he semi-retired in 2009. He also owned Guaranty Motors. Emmett married Linda Sue Setzer of Lenoir, NC and they raised three sons and one daughter as well as several foster children. He spent six years in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; son Jay (Janie), son Roger (Laura), daughter Melissa Hinote (Jason); grandchildren Hannah, Stephen, Luke, and Emily Hutto and Alex, Adrian, and Julian Gonzalez; brother, David Hutto (Linda) and sister, Judy Guinn (David). He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chris; and brother, W.B. Hutto.
Services were held at Westside Baptist Church, 10000 W. Newberry Road, Gainesville, FL 32606, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
